What Is A Mystery Shopper And How Can You Money As One?

A mystery shopper is a person who’s paid by a company, restaurant, or retailer to visit a business, carry out a transaction, then report back on the experience. The aim is to find out how the customer service at that establishment is. This information is used to identify any customer service gaps, staff training requirements as well as pay bonuses and employee salary adjustments. Its primary purpose though is to help improve the overall customer experience of the particular business.

Assignments vary. You may be asked to take photos of specific things in a store, open a bank account, buy a particular item in a store, or simply take note of the way the customer service personnel are treating customers. You may be asked to take note of specific words and phrases. Once the assignment has been completed, you have to write a detailed report of your experience and submit it to the company which hired you. The company will then pay you. In some cases, you’ll be given some amount to spend in the shop you’re visiting.

You need to be very observant if you’re going to be a mystery shopper since you have to take note of minute details. You have to have good detective skills and a good memory since you’re not supposed to make it open that you’re taking note of the ongoings of the establishment where you’re conducting the mystery shopping.

Mystery shoppers are often paid via PayPal or by check. The amount of money you can make varies from company to company. Some only reimburse you for what you’ve spent during the assignment while others pay a hefty sum of money for your time and feedback. If you’re new to it, don’t expect to become rich. It ‘s ideal for people with some extra time to spare as well as students. Look at it as a way of making extra income and if you do get the chance to make a hefty sum, it’s a bonus. Just be careful not fall prey to a scam.
